Dire Fel
Dire Fel's are the largest natural land predator found in the Mydian Valley. Reaching a height of 45 feet with their heads held high (generally closer to 37 feet at the shoulder) and reaching lengths of 75 feet from nose to tail tip, Dire Fel's evolved to predate upon the varied mega-tortoise species that call Mydian's great plains home.
Although singularly a Dire Fel couldn't hope to take down a Torton by itself, it's their ability to work together in loose-knit packs to take down such enormous animals that make the Dire Fel truely impressive. Crowned with a hard, boney helmet atop their large, toothy mawed heads, and sporting an elongated, lengthy claw on each foot, a Dire Fel pack will switch between raking at their prey with their huge killing claws and bashing them with their hardened, bone encased heads. Although it may take them hours, or even days in some cases, the fights between adult Dire Fels and adult Tortons is a sight not easily forgotten by those who witness such an epic struggle of survival.
