Troglodytes (or "Trogs" as they're often referred to) are a large semi-aquatic species of Lizard-kin. Although larger then most other species of Lizard-kin, Troglodytes don't come into direct conflict with civilization quite as much as their reptilian cousins, as they spend much of their time hunting in and around bodies of water.
Troglodytes tend to be of three basic colors - Green, Red and Blue.
Green seems to be the natural coloration of young Troglodytes, but adults generally turn a deep shade of red which is brought on via a ceremony for those Trogs whom have proven themselves to be good providers for their villages. The exact process of this skin coloration change is, as yet, not fully understood, but it is believed that a fungus of some form is introduced via a liquid during this ritual that then somehow affects skin pigment.
The blue color phase of the Troglodyte is by far the rarest, with only a few known instances of such having been reported from across all of Avalon. Whether some other ritual is responsible for this color phase variant is unknown.
Although there is a number of Troglodytes within the Mydyre Confederacy, they have the smallest populations within Morgh's army, with the vast majority of Mydian's Trog population living apart from the Confederacy in the centralized area of the valley known as "the Fel Swamps".
