Ettyn (Giant-Kin)

The Ettyns of Mydian are not their own seperate species of giant-kin, as they are in other parts of Avalon. Instead, the research done by Mydian's resident "scientist" Hans Hudson, seems to point towards resident Ettyns being more of a genetic mutation that has come into being via the insertion of unviable breeding stock into the resident Hill Giant gene pool. What this "unviable stock" is exactly, has yet to be determined, but it has caused so many mutations within Hill Giant tribes as to have become a somewhat common occurance within their births. This mutation seems to target twin births within the Hill Giant tribes, as singular births are almost never afflicted with an Ettyn offspring.
Mydian Ettyns are quite large (sometimes approaching 13-14 feet in some instances), and although not very intelligent (many can't even speak their own Hill Giant tongue), are powerhouses on the battlefield. Easily capable of uprooting small trees to use as weapons against whomever is so unlucky as to meet one, Ettyns have been witnessed literally crushing adversaries to death in one foul smash.
